Moon Tug
moontug:
When I feel the hunger, hazy in my gaze When I feel the cold, the dirt beneath the snow When I feel my heart, buried between the roots Blood, the warm pounding underneath Arms, lips, eyes, Your smile, your smile, your smile Burning trails, X marks the spot I have never left, for I am on a misson to return So you can teach me how to breathe again

I just learned some Chinese! That is to say, if I can still remember the characters. Hmmm… maybe I should watch this again.

For both parties to really benefit from the acquisition, Tumblr will need to embrace certain Yahoo! technologies and infrastructure, but sometimes a successful integration can be much more complex than it initially seems.

Technical details are vague at present, but the planned law could mandate putting wiretap capabilities in endpoints to cover everything from instant messaging and chat to services such as Skype, Google Hangouts and even Xbox Live.

How to screw up Tumblr →
In her announcement of Yahoo’s purchase of Tumblr for $1.1 billion, CEO Marissa Mayer promised “We won’t screw this up.” Rhetorically, that’s almost always a bad move. For a CEO, not screwing something up should be the default position, the operating assumption.
Not very comforting indeed… LOL :)

WordPress warns of mass Tumblr defections after... →
Mullenweg did stress, however, that in the greater scheme of things there’s no need for the site to panic. “For most folks habits overcome internet-outrage,” he wrote. “Even if a million people left, that’s just about a week’s worth of signups.”
Wow. That puts things in perspective I’d say.

Sex Tech: Tumblr NSFW search exclusion, LinkedIn... →
Prior to the Yahoo! sale, Tumblr appears to have been lying to its thousands of NSFW blog users. Even though users were shown an active interface to opt-in to search engine crawlers, any blog self-selected was secretly being blocked from search indexing.

Summer Was The Ancient Egyptian Sex Season →
While the summer was prime time for ancient Egyptian baby-making, the period around January seems to have been a low point, when conception fell to 20 percent below the site’s annual average. The baby dip was likely due to the new religion, Christianity, which in ancient times called for prohibitions on sex during certain periods, such as during Advent and Lent.

Hell No, Tumblr Users Won’t Go To Yahoo! →
Do a search on Tumblr for “yahoo” and you get a stream of distress, interspersed with the occasional bit of helpless resignation, and some calls for activism.

Why Yahoo May Buy Tumblr: It's All About The Kids →
The site, known for cat GIFs and amateur porn, expects to turn its first profit this year.
Well, I’m not buying it… Huh, huh… buying it… get it?
But on a more serious note, “cat GIF’s and amateur porn…” – really? This is the extend to which the Huffington Post looks into things?
